Terms of Service

These terms of service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Handy platform at handyapp.ai and its subdomains, operated by HandyApp Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17153591).

By creating an account or otherwise using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

• “Platform” means handyapp.ai and all of its subdomains, including the client portal, expert portal, and admin portal.
• “Client” means an individual using the platform to receive tax services.
• “Expert” means a tax professional providing services to clients through the platform.
• “Services” means tax reconciliation, preparation, and filing services delivered by experts through the platform.
• “Engagement” means a specific client-expert relationship covering a jurisdiction and tax year.
• “We”, “us”, “our” means HandyApp Ltd.

Handy is a marketplace that connects clients with independent tax experts. Handy is not an accounting firm. We do not provide tax advice ourselves.

Tax advice is provided by your assigned expert, who is an independent professional and is solely responsible for the advice they give. We facilitate the engagement by providing tools for communication, document sharing, billing, and progress tracking. We are not responsible for the accuracy or quality of expert advice.

To use most features of the platform, you must create an account. By doing so you agree:

• To provide accurate and complete information.
• To keep your login credentials secure and not share them.
• To maintain only one account per person.
• That we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used unlawfully.

As a client of the platform, you agree:

• To provide accurate and complete financial information.
• To respond to expert requests in a timely manner so they can complete the engagement.
• To pay for services as agreed in your quote or subscription.

Tax outcomes depend on the accuracy of the information you provide. You are responsible for the truthfulness of your records and the information you upload.

Experts are independent contractors and not employees, agents, or partners of HandyApp Ltd. As a condition of using the platform, experts must:

• Hold valid and current professional qualifications in each jurisdiction in which they offer services.
• Maintain the professional standards required by their licensing body.
• Comply with all applicable laws and tax regulations in their jurisdiction.

Detailed expert terms are agreed separately at the time of expert onboarding.

Prices shown on the platform are estimates until you receive a confirmed quote from your expert or accept a subscription plan. All payments are processed by Stripe.

Expert-billed engagements

Where the expert sets pricing directly, the price quoted by the expert is what you pay. We may charge a platform fee, which is disclosed before you commit.

Platform-billed engagements

Where pricing is calculated by the platform based on your assessment, you pay the displayed price via subscription or one-off payment.

Refunds

If we cannot deliver the agreed service, you will receive a full refund. Partial refunds may be offered at our discretion where work has already been performed.

• The platform itself — its content, design, code, and trademarks — belongs to HandyApp Ltd or its licensors.
• The data you upload to the platform belongs to you. You grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the service.
• The reports and outputs generated through the service are delivered to you and belong to you.

HandyApp Ltd is a platform provider, not a tax advisory firm. We are not liable for advice given by experts on the platform or for tax outcomes resulting from that advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or any engagement is limited to the fees actually paid by you in respect of the relevant engagement.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

Before raising any formal dispute, please contact us at hello@handytax.io. We try to resolve issues directly and quickly.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Either party may terminate the engagement on reasonable notice. On termination:

• We will retain personal data only as required by law and delete the rest in line with our privacy policy.
• Outstanding payments for work already performed remain due.

• We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email.
• If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
• Failure to enforce any right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
• These Terms, together with the privacy policy and any quote or engagement letter, constitute the entire agreement between you and HandyApp Ltd.
