Where are you tax resident?

โ— What is DAC8?

DAC8 is the EU's version of these reporting rules. Since 1 January 2026, crypto platforms in the EU have had to record what their users buy, sell and transfer, and report it to their tax authority the following year. EU countries swap the first data by 30 September 2027.

โ— What is CARF?

CARF, the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework, is the OECD's standard for the same reporting outside the EU. More than 70 countries and territories have signed up: the UK and the EU exchange first, in 2027, and Australia, Canada and others follow in 2028. The US isn't part of it yet.
